XnView MP plugin

On Debian/Ubuntu install XnView MP, then recoil-xnview_6.4.5-1_amd64.deb.

GIMP plugin

Install:

• On Debian/Ubuntu: recoil-gimp_6.4.5-1_amd64.deb
• On Fedora: recoil-gimp-6.4.5-1.x86_64.rpm
• From source code: recoil-6.4.5.tar.gz, uncompress it and follow the instructions in the INSTALL file.

Command-line converter

Install:

• On Debian/Ubuntu: recoil-2png_6.4.5-1_amd64.deb
• On Fedora: recoil-2png-6.4.5-1.x86_64.rpm
• From source code: as above.

When you run recoil2png with just the input filenames, it writes the corresponding PNGs with the same names and locations and the extensions changed to png.

To see what options are available, run the program without arguments.

GNOME thumbnails

First install the command-line converter as above.

Then install:

• On Debian/Ubuntu: recoil-thumbnailer_6.4.5-1_all.deb
• On Fedora: recoil-thumbnailer-6.4.5-1.noarch.rpm
• From source code: as above.
